"On behalf of my friends and myself I can confirm that we've just had one of the most well organized and exciting trips of our lives. The mountaineering community of Ecuador consists of really intelligent people, which meant that being with Javier and Felipe was not only being safe in the mountains but also a lot of pleasant and interesting time while travelling around. They both are proud of their country, they know everything about its history, current situation, people, customs etc and time with them was very educational. Thanks a lot for putting together such a great trip."

Liga Hartmane (Latvia) Ecuador Volcanoes Expedition, January 2006

“The information received from Stu at Field Touring prior to booking the trip and then departure was comprehensive. It allowed me to amass the right kit for the trip and gain an insight into what to expect and how best to prepare physically for the challenge ahead. The organisation from arrival in Pakistan, throughout the trip and right up to departure was excellent. As was the food at base camp and the willingness of both the local staff and guides to go the extra mile to ensure the trip was a success and everyone had the best possible chance to summit. Well evidenced by 8 out of the 11 trip members reaching the summit and the efficient way in which the one member who suffered from frostbite was evacuated by helicopter within 6 hours of a request being put in. I would have no hesitation in recommending Stu and all the team at FTA and intend to climb with them again in the future"

Peter Cooke, 2007 Spantik member

I exactly found what I was looking for, had an unforgettable adventure, gained a lot of experience and met a number of really cool people. And I had a happy end with the summit of course. The guides were great, the HAPs (especially Taqi) as well and everything went out perfect. The trip was already worth it when we reached bc. This was for sure not my last expedition and not my last trip with FTA. I'm really thankful for your support prior because that was the reason for me to join.

"Awesome trip. Stu did a great job. Happy to join FTA again. cheers Anthony"

Anthony Geoghan (USA) Ama Dablam Expedition, Nepali Himalaya

"I had a terrific time on Broad Peak. The Baltoro was eye-popping. The climb was entertaining. And, the trekking service provided to my wife, Gina, was exceptional."

Francis Slakey (USA) Broad Peak 8047m, Pakistani Himalayas

Yes, they (the guides) were very helpful and it was nice having their help and company all the time.

Maruca Gonzalez (MEX) K2 trek, Pakistani Himalaya

"I'm personally grateful to you for helping out Pakistan in its time of need. I read about your tent donation and efforts on explorer's web yesterday and felt proud to have chosen your outfit for my adventure next year. Again, thanks for helping out the Pakistani people."

Omar Sheryaff (USA) K2 – Broad Peak Expedition

"First off I enjoyed the trip up to the cave on Aconcagua. It was certainly a good experience. To a large extent this was because of the people involved, both staff and Team members. Martin and Ilan are very good value, and I would like to meet them again someday. Also thanks to Osvaldo and Marcello.

The one and only problem with this trip was the bureaucracy of the national park office...which meant that by the time we got near the peak we were short on time. In some ways I prefer the days of inflation, dictatorships, and corruption. ie 10-20 years ago! Thanks for everything."

Member, Aconcagua Winter expedition, Argentine Andes

"I found about Field Touring while looking for guide services for a Pakistan climb. I was impressed with the philosophy of Dave Hancock and signed on for Aconcagua. His value pricing and strong spirit of respect for the independent climber attracted me. And I was not disappointed. Stu Remensynder and Martin Girodo executed the philosophy with ease and respect. It was a genuine pleasure to see two guides so committed to the safe success of their clients. It is rare in my experience to see such uniform client satisfaction amongst so many cultures and experience levels. I believe their model, if expanded, could have a major impact on guided mountaineering in that they attract mature climbers who take full responsibility for their own success while relying on FT for a safety net."

"Of all the expeditions I saw on the mountain, I was glad I was with Field Touring Alpine, I did not want my hand held, but I did want to get to the top. Mission accomplished."

Jim Donoghue (Ireland) Aconcagua, Argentine Andes.

"I would like to thank you for organising the Mt Spantik expedition. It was generally well organised and my expectations were met....keep the great
work up."

Andrew Kets (AUS) Spantik, Karakoram Himalaya, Pakistan

"I want to remark that Gary Hayes and Dan Buck did an excellent job in the mountain , better impossible , and thanks to them and your local Pakistanian staff we had a great time there. Gary and Dan are not only excellent professionals, also great persons, and that is the most important."

Inigo De Pineda Blanc (MEX) Spantik, Karakoram Himalaya, Pakistan

"Hi guys, this is Greg Sharman, Ive just returned home after my K2 trek which we had 6 beautiful fine days on the Baltoro, seeing all the mountains without a cloud in the sky - amazing view, Ive been in the southern alps on NZ, Swiss alps, Patagonia and the Andes all the way up to Ecuador but I think this was the best!"

Greg Sharman (NZ) Pakistan trekking

"Dear Dave, I want to thank you and your staff for an awesome trip! The guide and ATP were great. In particular, Jamie managed the difficult situation of Fabian and Yannick very well. I look forward to my next trip with Field Touring!'

Mandi Dapon (USA) Broad Peak 8047m, Pakistani Himalaya

"I am very grateful for the support I got from your superb local staff during the return trip (when I fell ill early). They paid my stay in Skardu and Islamabad, which, taking the contract strictly, they were not obliged to do. Thanks for the extra help."

Mathieu van Rijswick (NED) Gasherbrum II 8032m, Pakistani Himalaya

"My over-all impression of the trip was vey positive, but I have low standards. A bad day on the Baltoro is better than a good
day at work! None of the minor operational concerns were of consequence. Your staff did a great job in a tough season. A gold star to our leader for a great job. He made the trip when other leaders couldn't step up. He went by example by putting in the long hours, setting fixed rope, and humping the big loads. So what if he lacks some people skills, he's a hard worker (joke)!"
