Spantik 2008
Our Spantik expedition will get under way August first and we still have room for a few more climbers! Disptaches to begin August 1, 2008.
Welcome to Field Touring Alpine!
We are the largest and longest established expedition and alpine outfitter
in Australia, catering to an extensive world-wide client base.
We specialize in cost effective climbing expeditions and remote alpine treks for independent climbers and walkers.
In the past few seasons we operated ten 7000m climbs, four major 8000m expeditions
that included K2, a host of alpine and remote based treks, and numerous sub
6000m trips. While roundly held as the world leader in expedition organization
inside Pakistan’s Karakorum Himalaya, we also operate extensively in
Nepal, Ecuador, Bolivia, China, Russia, and on Aconcagua.
We would like to thank Eureka! for their major sponsorship of our recent expeditions
to Broad Peak and K2, Cho Oyu and Ama Dablam. Providing 44 of the best tents
they make, we rested assured that our members spent their most challenging
nights in arguably the world’s toughest tent – the Fifth
Season Exo!
It is never too soon to think about the season ahead, already 90% of our trips are confirmed to go - Gasherbrum II / Gasherbrum I in June/July, Spantik Expedition, Snowlake and K2 treks in August, Ama Dablam in October and in November and we are starting to fill places on Ecuador in November and Aconcagua Polish and False Polish in January and February. We are also putting final details together for summer trips to Satopanth and Muztag Ata and have new treks to Zansgar in India and the Wakhan near Afghanistan, and trekking peak Tharpu Chuli in Nepal.
There is, quite literally, something for everyone, and with an office now
in the USA we have expanded our organizational and support operations and
look forward to offering even richer programs in the years ahead.
Happy adventures! Dave Hancock,
FTA Principal
